Catherine Hill Bay Surf Club adopted the Surf Lifesaving Australia
Policy on Social Media in April this year.  Club members are advised to
read the policy as posted on our website.

The main elements of the policy are members using social media:
  • Must not contain, or link to, libellous, defamatory or harassing
    content.This also applies to the use of illustrations or nicknames;
  • Must not comment on, or publish, information that is confidential
    or in any way sensitive to SLSA, its affiliates, partners or sponsors; and
  • Must not bring the organisation or surf lifesaving into disrepute"

Further Upgrades to Catho Clubhouse Facilities Announced

Catho SLSC is delighted to announce the awarding of a grant from the NSW
Government, Community Building Partnership Programme for the redevelopment of
the eastern ground floor exterior to include a viewing platform and cafe seating.

redevelopment will comprise paving from building edge to the existing timber
handrail and provision for specific patrol viewing platform and removable shade
awning, sections for market umbrellas with cafe seating, and a designated
wash-down area to the southern end.  


The cafe concept will enhance the existing kiosk and a purchase of
commercial coffee machine and extended food offerings will assist the Club to
generate additional income towards self-sustainability while servicing Club
Members, residents, and visitors to the Bay.


We are grateful to Yasmin Catley, Member for Swansea in the support
provided to this Grant.


Works will be scheduled for off-season 2016 in conjunction with LMCC
project on a new lifeguard tower in the lower section adjacent to beach access
stairs.  A plan of the redevelopment is attached.

Catho Receives $9,500 NSW Government Grant


Yasmin Catley MP presented Catho SLSC with a $9,500 NSW Government Local Sport Grant to upgrade the sunshade and to purchase a new storage locker.

Catho is fortunate to have the continued support of the NSW Government, Lake Macquarie City Council and our sponsors.

Board Training

Welcome back to another season and looking forward to working with you all again.

Troy Ham will be coaching our Club training with the assistance of Kelly Elasi.

We will require Water Safety at our training sessions and this can only be our Bronze Medallions or SRC members. At no time is any parent allowed to be in the water with their children without a BRONZE MEDALLION.

For any previous Members you MUST be registered for this Season.

Any New Members you MUST complete your Pool Proficiency prior to entering the water. Once completed and verified please come along to training.

Training is FREE to our members and Kelly & the Water Safety are volunteers. If you have any matter that needs to be discussed please see Kelly.

Training this year will involve learning and developing board skills, swimming skills and if there is enough interest we will begin beach/sand training. The beach training will only go ahead if the numbers warrant.

Training days and Times starting Tuesday 3rd October.
Tuesday 3rd October 4.00—5.00pm

Saturday 7th October 9.00—10.00am

 Novice Board Training starting Sunday 15th October

before Nippers 8.30-9.45am.

Please note that training will only go ahead when the flags are up and the beach is open & we have enough Water Safety.
